Father’s Day and the Changing Role of Dads

A big shout out to all husbands and fathers on their special day! According to Pew Research analysis of U.S. Census Bureau data, the number of dads who don’t work outside the home has doubled over the past 25 years. In 2010 this category reached its highest point-over 2 million-just after the official end of the Great Recession. Since that time the numbers are slightly lower due to a decline in unemployment. A Woman’s Nation: Who Wears the Pants?

One question in the Shriver Report, when husbands weighed in, was who wears the pants? Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm’s husband is now a full-time Dad.
